Asteron Life extends Best Doctors package to advisers
1 September 2021
Please note, the Best Doctors service is now known as Asteron Life Connected Care. For more information, check out the latest media release here.
Asteron Life has today announced that it is extending the benefits of the Best Doctors service, currently available to customers with its disability insurance products, to eligible insurance advisers.
Best Doctors provides easy access to leading specialists and mental health clinicians via telehealth. It can support users with diagnosis, treatment and information when facing a medical uncertainty, all from the comfort of their own home.
Graham Hill, executive manager life distribution at Asteron Life, says that Best Doctors has received glowing feedback from customers and advisers who have previously used it.
“Life insurance is about providing support to our customers when they need it, and Best Doctors enables our customers to make medical decisions with confidence when they are going through a tough time,” he says.
“Covid-19 has put the spotlight on the importance and value of virtual medical care, and we’re delighted to be able to extend this benefit to life insurance advisers absolutely free.”
To qualify for the service, advisers only need in-force business with Asteron Life. Once qualified, advisers can get in touch with Best Doctors directly at any time through their website.
Mike Morris, Country Manager at Best Doctors, says there is no limit to the number of times eligible customers or advisers can contact Best Doctors.
“The last 18 months has seen a great deal of uncertainty for New Zealanders and periodic pressure on medical services they are able to access,” he says. "Best Doctors provides easy and quick access to a network of leading local and international experts who can provide clarity and certainty in regard to a medical diagnosis and the best treatment pathway."
He says that the Covid-19 pandemic has also played a part in the rise in use of the Mental Health Navigator service.
Asteron Life will be offering two free webinars with Morris, to provide advisers with the opportunity to ask any questions they might have about the service.
