Asteron Life awarded 2021 Life Insurer of the Year

Asteron Life has been awarded Life Insurance Company of the Year the 2021 ANZIIF NZ Insurance Industry Awards.

This award recognises companies that have demonstrated strong performance, responded to market changes and provided outstanding service for their customers and intermediaries.

Grant Willis of Asteron Life said the result reflected the company’s commitment to being ‘supporters for life’ for both its customers and advisers.

“Over 2020 and 2021, Asteron Life has worked hard to continue to support customers and advisers who have faced disruption and hardship due to Covid-19, including providing nearly $4m million in support through options like premium waivers,” he says. 

The judges praised Asteron Life’s focus on improving support for customers experiencing vulnerability, and its support for advisers and employees during periods of remote working due to Covid-19.

Willis says that improving its support for customers experiencing vulnerability has been a big focus for the company recently, as well as working closely with advisers to help them prepare for the new adviser licensing regime.

“The last 18 months has been unprecedented in terms of the rate and scale of change, and I am proud to be recognised for the work we’ve done to prepare both our company and advisers for the future, and to create great outcomes for our customers.”
